Kingfishers News Update @28th Jan 2021

Message posted on behalf of the Club Chair
Hi to all Kingfishers,
We hope you are all staying safe and getting your exercise.
We thought a quick update regarding membership might be appropriate.
On Tuesday evening our Secretary, Vicky Gough, attended a Swim England ZOOM meeting with regional clubs to get a Covid Leads update and an update of SE’s general plans and intentions.
After listening to the latest government announcement yesterday the Executive Committees email flow went into overdrive, the main emphasis of discussion was the membership payments and its affect on the payees and the club finances.
Previous Club announcements have clearly outlined our reasons for collecting the full membership fee, how they play a vital part in maintaining and fulfilling Club mark requirements, delivering training needs, and creating a happy, lively and vibrant club.
We are naturally concerned that 3 months of paid swimming membership will have lapsed before we hopefully return to the pool.
The full Committee will be working through the various and complex scenarios to ensure that both the Membership and the Club are happy with the final outcome.
Please,if possible, pay the full membership that will help us plan financially and we will do our upmost to deliver a good return for your commitment.
Just a reminder that membership is due and for those that aren’t aware what it helps pay for
– All insurance for people and equipment
– Ongoing investment in CPD for volunteers
– Ongoing investment in equipment
– Salary for head coach
Thank you and stay safe,
Colin
Chair, Kingfishers Swimming Club
