Developing additional technique, stamina and swimming skills …
Kingfishers Junior & Senior Development Squads have their own dedicated and experienced coaching team to progress your child with more advanced swim technique, stamina, performance and strength, as well as develop discipline, as part of a larger team with the opportunity to compete if this is of interest.
Swimmers moving through the Kingfishers swim pathway from Entry Development Squads or from Junior and Senior Development Squads are encouraged and coached in developing confidence, skills and performance whilst having fun in training sessions. Additional sessions are added by invitation as they develop and swim alongside Junior & Senior Performance Squads at some sessions to extend their pier group and horizon, as to what they may be able to achieve whilst swimming with Kingfishers.
Swimmers are encouraged to take part in club events such as the Phillip and Amanda Lee Memorial Gala and Kingfishers Club Championships as they start to experience more of what the club can bring them, and are encouraged to support their fellow swimmers in local friendly and division events organised by SaDSA (Scarborough and District Swimming Association). Opportunities exist to take part in events at regional level, Open and Licensed Meets – representing their club further afield – and allowing them to gain both qualifying times and personal bests as they progress.
