First Kingfishers Club Night After Summer Break – Wednesday 4th September 2019
First Kingfishers Club Night After Summer Break – Wednesday 4th September
Welcome back everyone after our summer break. Please be reminded of the following changes:
- Polite reminder that any members that have moved to secondary school in September will be automatically moved from 7-8pm to 8-9pm on Wednesday night if they aren’t already swimming at this time. We have to make these moves to allow new younger swimmers early water time when joining our club.
- New monthly charges will come into effect from September 1st with a small increase of monthly fees. This has had to be increased due to the lack of fund raising activities. Hopefully we can encourage some volunteers to fill some of our club volunteer vacancies in the months ahead. If you can help please let the front desk know any little support or time you can give will be much appreciated.
- 1 Session per week £13
- 2 Session per week £26
- 3/4 Hours per week £39
- 5 Hours plus per week £64
Many Thanks Your Committee

BLDSA Champion of Champions – Scaling Dam
BLDSA Champion of Champions – Scaling Dam
People often wonder why I love working with kingfishers open water squad, it’s because I never cease to be amazed and proud of our open water swimmers. On the 22nd June Four Kingfisher ladies Maddy Adams, Ellie Knight, Jane Sedman and Alex Sedman travelled to Scaling Dam just north of Whitby for the first ever champion of champion event at that venue. The race is particularly gruelling some may even say cruel in 15degrees! You start the day with a 5 mile race, get out, get dry, feed and go back in for a 3 mile race followed by 1 mile sprint. The sun shone all day and the water was beautiful and flat for the 5 mile, 1 lap into the 3 mile the wind got up and conditions remained challenging for the rest of the day. Maddie again the only junior to complete this mammoth swim was our first swimmer home 4th overall in the ladies section followed by Ellie and Jane with Alex completing just the 5 mile on this occasion. Hats off ladies you are warriors

No Swimming Monday 8th July
Parents/swimmers please note & share with anyone who may have missed this message.
It is with great regret that we have to communicate that there will be no swimming session on Monday 8th July. This is due to unavailability of coaching team.
Swimming will however resume as normal on Wednesday 10th July.
This Sundays session 7th July is on as usual & will be another specialist session led by former International Swimmer & GB Coach Dave Legge.
Many thanks
