Reminder: The Ridings gala is going ahead as planned today. There may be a minutes silence out of respect to the Queen’s passing… “God save the King”

Good luck to all our Kingfisher swimmers taking part. Swim well, swim fast & most of all enjoy 🙂

The team is the fastest combination of swimmers, per age group, chosen in consultation with members of the coaching team and final approval from the Head Coach.
All swimmers attending the gala will swim in at least one event. We have tried to include as many swimmers as possible based on PBs but please let us know if a swimmer would rather not attend if they are swimming in only one event. Please arrive wearing swimming costumes if possible to limit use of the changing rooms.
Thank you so much to everyone from our club who has already, and continues to volunteer to support these galas – they can’t run without you. Please let us know if you are available to help with any roles (officiating, timekeeping, coaching) for the 10th.
If swimmers need to leave the poolside for any reason please tellyour coaches where you are going. Wear your club kit and cap if possible. Bring something to eat (snacks – fruit, nuts, etc.), an extra towel, a bottle of water/plenty to drink, spare goggles and a hat if you have them and if you take medication please make sure you
have this with you. Loads more info here about what you might need especially if this is your first gala.

This weekends gala Sunday 17th July (Beverley Baracudas Sprints) at the Beverley Leisure Centre, Flemingate, Beverley HU17 0LT

Please take note that this meet has changed to afternoon session 1 (1pm warm up – start 2pm) early evening session 2 (5pm warm up – start 6pm)

Please note timings below and be aware of if you are attending session 1 or session 2

When you arrive please go straight to the coaching team to register that you are there so that they confirm attendance with the event organisor. This is to make sure races aren’t cancelled by accident.

Just to confirm

Session 1 (races beginning with a 1) – warm up 1pm, start time 2pm

Session 2 (races beginning with a 2) – warm up 5pm, start time 6pm

Spectator Tickets will be sold on the day, on a first come first served basis

Adults £6 per session or £9 for the day

Children/OAP’s £3 per session or £5 for the day

A Swimzi shop will be on site for the day, the café will be open for food and drink and a large raffle table.

Apologies to everyone who made entries to the Bridlington Gala.
We did not get our entries accepted by the event organiser as the event was over subscribed.
Refunds will be given through swim manager.

To replace this event the coaching team have selected a gala at Beverley the following week on Sunday 17th July.

In order to accommodate a Warm Up for all swimmers the start of the Sunday Morning Session has been put back to 9-20am.
The afternoon session is still scheduled to start at 2-30pm.

There will be a NESS Swimwear shop in the Studio. The Café should be open.

Spectators should sit in the 4 blocks of seats towards the start end of the pool (The end with the Scoreboard). The other two blocks of seats will be allocated to clubs.

Withdrawals

If a swimmer is not going to swim in a heat they must inform the Entry Manager of their intention to withdraw no later than 5pm on the Friday Evening for all events on the Saturday and 5pm on Saturday for events on Sunday. Seeded Heat Start lists will be produced. Notifications should be sent to

Declaration Form for 1500m Freestyle.
We will be using a ReEntry System for the 1500m Freestyle on the Sunday. The ReEntry form must be delivered to the Timing Suite by 6pm on Saturday 12th February or sent by email to

Team Championships Sunday 27th February 2022

Tickets for this date will be available to purchase from 10am on Monday 14th February. They will be for one session only.

The Spectator Balcony will be cleared between sessions.

No ticket will be required to view the Mixed Sex 800m Freestyle

This page lists requirements which must be met by all attending this meet.

Swimmers are requested to only remain the building for as long as is necessary for them to complete their events. Once they have swum their programme, for a particular session, they are requested to vacate the building. Please ensure that you are met by a responsible person.


1. Covid19 is currently rife in our Schools. You are requested to undertake a Covid19
Lateral Flow Test, within the 48 hours before you are due to attend the Meet. IF
THIS TEST IS POSITIVE YOU MUST NOT ATTEND THE MEET AND MUST BOOK A PCR
TEST IMMEDIATELY.

2. You must complete a ‘Return to Competition Health Declaration Form’ and deposit
it with your Club before the competition. The form can be found on our Swim
England Returning to Pool Resources
here
3. It will be the responsibility of each Club to ensure that they have a copy of the
form for each swimmer, or a similar record form produced by the Club. Many
swimmers will have already completed such a form.

4. You are requested to wear a Face mask at all times when moving about in the
venue. You may remove it when seated and before you enter the water.

5. Swimmers & Team Staff will enter the pool area through the Changing Village.
They should then use the stairs from the pool deck if they are allocated space on
the seating area. They should ensure that they are wearing suitable footwear
when using the Balcony stairs.

6. Spectators will access the Balcony by using the stairs from the Foyer.They will
have to produce evidence of purchasing a ticket to the Stewards stationed at this
point.

7. Coaches are requested to remain with their swimmers at all times, except during
Warm Up.

8. Athletes should arrive, where possible, in beach wear ready to swim

9. The Marshalling area will be on the Pool Deck, Spectator Balcony side. Please social
distance whenever possible.

10. The Diving Pit will be used for Swim Down. If the Swim Down Pool is not used
in a sensible manner it will be closed.

11. All those attending should make frequent use of the sanitiser points round the
venue.

12. Swimmers will be allowed to visit the Café or Swim shop. They should ensure that
they are wearing suitable footwear when not swimming. Please maintain Social
Distancing at all times.

A Re-Entry system will be used for the Mixed Sex 1500m Freestyle. Swimmers have to confirm that they intend to swim.

We have just put three new open meet  Gala’s into our events calendar. Anyone wishing to enter needs to make their selections in Swim Manger asap. New competitors to open meets please talk to your coach first for suitability & details.
