Our Volunteers

Kingfishers Swimming Club relies on the time and commitment of over 35 regular volunteers to administer the club as a registered charity and to run and operate club nights, learn to swim programmes, coaching and development of swimmers etc.

All volunteers are DBS checked, certified in child protection in sport, registered with Swim England and most carry multiple roles and have a training pathway in accordance with the Club’s Swim 21 Accreditation.

The club has the greatest number of qualified swim teachers and officials in the area and supports Level 1 Judge training (the new multiple skills Swim England Scheme which incorporates all technical and timekeeping roles etc.) and operates a Mentee scheme to further develop teenagers interested in progressing to swim teaching and mentoring younger swimmers in a safe and positive environment (maybe later taking a swim teacher qualification themselves, subject to selection post 16).

If you wish to be involved in helping the club as a volunteer please speak to one of our committee members on club night (Wednesdays) or whenever you are passing our front desk and make yourself known.
